Westwood College

I wish there were a Westwood College close to me.  I wouldn’t mind checking out a degree in design and in 20 months, that is fast.  I do wonder truly how versatile such a degree is without a more famous school name behind it and without getting a job locally from the school.  The career centers in schools are such great resources.

This college hunting and requesting transcripts all day isn’t quite what it is cracked up to be.  It is about like job hunting and to be doing both at the same time is a bit draining.  I think that is part of the reason I have been just dragging here lately.

If only I were looking for a Chicago College.

Payday Loans…

I have never used a payday loan.  I attempt to always use “real” money from my ATM for almost everything I buy.  I admit though that I at one point had a whole lot of debt, so I now after the divorces still do have some.  I am working as hard as I can’ to pay it off though while still keeping money out for the summer.

Yeah, I stretch money like nobody you know.  I essentially buy nothing…cheapo me.

Anyways… here is a company that offers to compare Payday Loans for you.  They offer No Fax Payday Loans and load reviews.  I really like there site too, it is clean and easy to read.  They offer loan values from $300 up to $1500 which if the whole system is not abused could really help someone out of a jam.

I did some calculating with there calculator though and holy crow.  I don’t think I could be the one to use this service.  I know to many people who would lend me money before this… Yeah, it would be so so embarrassing to ask though, so I hope to goodness that this is not a place I ever see myself.

Anyways, if you need a Faxless Payday Loans.  I would say go check them out first.

Dating Sites…

I actually have never used a dating site.  I made a profile in one, but never go back to check on it.  I have never put my photo in a site like that either…it seems sort of cheesy to me for some reason.

Anyways…here is a free dating site that seems to be attracting visitors from all over the world.  They offer free live chat and free phone chat features.  I have been looking around and reading the profiles in different dialects though, why this interests me.  I had no idea, but it is actually pretty fun.

So if you are maybe looking for a date and not wanting to pay someone for the ability to talk or meet, go check out this new international dating site.  Friendstation.com, you will probably enjoy it.

TechBargains…

Hey, who doesn’t love a good bargain?? There are tons of coupons and rebates over at Techbargains. I right now am especially drawn into the dell coupons. I am in need of a new computer system. Yeah, mine is getting a bit old and outdated. I am sort of on the fence though as to if I am going to go with another Windows system. I am thinking of jumping on the Leopard wagon with a Mac. I am really put off with the idea of Vista. I have used it a few times, but not super impressed.

Anyways, Techbargains has all the deals listed out right there for you. They have RSS feeds, so the deals can be delivered right into your reader. They offer a free newsletter, so you can get them via e-mail as well.

There are search tabs on each page, so you can find all the best deals for you. They offer a version of there site that is compatible with your cell phone browser, so you can even visit the deals while bored and waiting around for something to happen. This is me at all Stan’s doctors appointments.

I was looking at the camera deals too because well I am always drawn to cameras and deals added…a great mix. They do have some great prices on some models. Enjoy…

Paintball Story…

As most of you know I went into the Army straight out of high school.  One of the things that the recruiters did with us was take us to play paintball.  It turned out to be one of the most memorable days in my life.

I was about the dumbest paint ball player in the whole world.  Why do you ask??  I wore a red shirt.  Yeah, you read that right.  I wore a BRIGHT RED shirt.  Can you say duh??

Well, it turned out I wasn’t that dumb.  I was the only one of the whole lot that actually got to touch the opponents flag the entire day.  There were like 20 of us most everyone was all camo and blending.

So, how did I do it??  The rules were when you were shot to put your hands up in the air and walk to the out of bounds area.  If your hands weren’t up, you were in play.  I kept a lookout for all the tippmann paintball guns and realized that there were so many people walking with there arms up that me in my shirt could probably make it to the other end, by simply walking up there.

I did…I just stood up.  Hands down not pointing my gun at anyone what so ever and just walked right past my opponents looking right at me, my heart pounding so hard I could feel it in my toes.  I went all the way up to my opponents flag.  I put it in my shirt and walked back to my end of the game the same way I left.

I learned a lot that day.  Oh, did I say I was the only girl too???  LOL…  I was basically the hero at the end of the day.  It was a great day.  It turns out I am pretty good with paintball guns as well.  I am a good shot.  It was that simple and a fun day with a perfect wardrobe selection.

Wake Up Call - PayPerPost…

Payperpost is really ticking me off. They are rejecting any post that is posted next to a Blogger of the Day post, saying that I don’t have enough actual content on my site. It all makes me wonder if they have actually looked at my site. I have more content than the beloved Colleen ever had, no offense Colleen. It is true though.

Here is there rejection notice 2nd time for this post.

Hello Jennifer,

Thanks for blogging with PayPerPost. We?ve noticed your interims namely “AntiBarbie.Net - BOTD” is not quite meeting the PPP Terms of Service lately. It seem to lack quality content, To better balance your blog, and provide balanced, quality content for your readers, start beefing up your non-sponsored interims. What do you enjoy writing about? What?s going on that you?d like to add to your blog?

We look forward to seeing more valuable content in your non-sponsored posts! Thanks!.

Victor

Here though, look at this: I did 9 post on that same day, of which only that 1 was sponsored and just happened to follow the BOTD post.

Is anything like this happening to you?? Can you believe it??

Take Fall in Style…

Dansko helps you be stylish in any season. I am always the last one to buy the seasonal items that make you look like you are ahead of the game, so I still am not ready for fall. This is changing sort of though. I feel this renewed sense of self as of lately and have bought some new clothes for myself.

I haven’t gotten any new shoes though. These Dansko shoes look perfect for me. I love the clog looking style, but I need a back on my shoes because I have high arches and my shoes move forwards with my natural walking step.

tn_Dans-306-530202This is the pair I think I like the best. I don’t think I will be buying it though because of my new restricted budget and because of what I have spent on clothes. They do offer free shipping though for orders over $100 so that is a huge benefit.

You should go check out the shoes here though before you make your next purchase.

Duplex Scanner…

portable-duplex-scanner Duplex scanner is a great way to keep track of your personal finance receipts and keep all those wonderful drawings from your 2 year old without having to actually keep the drawings. You have no idea how many drawings will fit onto your average CD.  I use my scanner for both of these tasks and it works great.

I have a file for the receipts of the year on my blogging and other contractor job expenses.  I scan and store my years worth of receipts in that.

I also have a dated file for Kyra art work.  I have her first circle she drew scanned and saved in there.  I don’t have to keep that paper that was scrap paper to begin to have that memory forever.  I suggest this for everyone with a kid of any age.

I also scan some of the nicer art works I get from students on the bus.  I scanned on today from a kindergarten student that drew me and Kyra.  It is so nice to get these art works.  I scan the ones I want to keep forever, and hang the actual piece out in the bus for the sun to fade away and eventually for me to trash it.  I always have the full color original though in my scan.

If you don’t have a scanner, check out this ScanShell 3000DN Duplex model.  It looks great…

BP Alternate Energy Contest…

I am not a total tree hugger, but I think that the BP Solar Decathlon is a wonderful way for them to be spending my almost $3.00 per gallon.

I have been watching the Penn State team in this, just because they are so close to me.

I think my house could be turned all solar as well if it were cheaper, I wouldn’t hesitate. My house gets a whole lot of sun even on not so sunny days. There is an Amish store, sort of store, down the road that sells solar panels. A lot of the Amish in the area are using these for power. The Amish don’t want to be connected to the grid and rely on other people for any of there stuff basically. They want independence as a whole from society.

Anyways, this BP project is a wonderful one and I think all the teams are doing a stellar job. I know that the participants of each team will be winners simply by being involved in such a project. It will raise that individuals awareness that much more.

Bathroom Faucet Still Leaking…

This is a sponsored post!

My bath faucets are still leaking. Larry replaced a big section of the copper pipe with PVC yesterday. It was still leaking at the faucet, so he tried but wasn’t sure if it would work. This resin stuff on the faucet pipe, well he was right. It didn’t work. It is leaking now worse than before. I have actually turned my water off now in between when I need it.

So, tonight I will be getting new faucets. I am leaning towards something like this with two tone coloring. I need big bases on them though because my old faucets were big and they cut out the shower thingy to that size and now I have to cover that all up.

Anyways, I was looking over here getting an idea of what was available in the faucet arena. There is masses of selection on faucets. It is wonderful to see the options that will fit best with my lack of decor.

The site is full of tips for purchasing and even offers free shipping.
