  • 2 tickets to the North Carolina Theatre
  • 2 tickets to the N.C. Museum of Art?s Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism
  • 2 tickets to Dinosaurs: Ancient Fossils, New Discoveries at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences

I am going to tell Robin about this. She is going to the Carolina’s in a few weeks, well actually on October 13th. She used to live down there, so is going to visit friends and stuff. This festival looks like fun so maybe she could meet her friends at it.

I personally like the idea of going to the Museum of Natural Science though. All those science museums are very fun for me, for some reason. I really like life sciences although the fossils and dinosaur stuff isn’t all that interesting to me. I like the modern now sciences more.

I think Raleigh is a great place to visit though. I have been there several times myself and think that if you haven’t and you are planning any type of vacation. Raleigh is worth a thought.

Los Angeles Criminal Law & Defense Blog vs Nice Pastor

I keep seeing the ugly guys mug all over blogs that I read, so I finally got to looking into who the heck he was to be able to hang around with the famous likes of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.  Well, it turns out he is a celebrity lawyer from the Los Angeles Criminal Attorney Blog | California Criminal Defense Lawyers Forum. He is greatly needed by these two characters.

DSC06903 He looks like the pastor that married my cousin though and each time I see him.  I think weddings not lawyers.  See if you don’t think so too.  I have searched now for about 30 minutes for this photo.

Park West Art Gallery

This is a sponsored post!

98221 The Park West Art Gallery is an interesting site full of beautiful artwork all of which I can’t afford.

I particularly like the animation pieces, but there list of artists is astonishing and it is quite enjoyable to visit there works.

They have an auction house in Michigan and another affiliate location in Miami.  There major calling card though is art auctions on cruise ships all over the world.  The company Park West at Sea hosts these entertaining venues on the ships.

When you purchase from Park West you can know that they know the artist and have a personal knowledge of information behind the pieces that you are buying.  They include a certificate of authenticity with each and every purchase.  If you can afford it, I highly encourage everyone to support an artist.  There skills are so incredible.  You won’t regret your purchase.

Have a Purple Party…

Barney has a Purple Party when there friend Charlene comes back to visit the park after being away a long time.  At Barney’s party all the kids dress up in purple clothing from the costume closet, they eat foods that are purple, Charlene is very suprised and they all have a great time.  This is one of Kyra’s favorite Barney shows and I have probably watched it 50 times.

Well, adults can have “Purple Party” too, only for a different cause, the World Alheimer’s Day is coming soon.  It is actually tomorrow.  I think your purple party can be a great success even if you are starting the planning a little late and there is no better need for help than with this awful disease that affects so many and will affect some of us reading.

You can register your party on at actionalz.org witch will allow you to create you own webpage for the party.  It will also send an email reminder to guests, which will allow guests to make donations to help cure alzheimers online.

In addition donations that are made this month will be doubled by the generous people of The Harrah’s Foundation, so even a small donation can make a big difference.

Stock Up with Friends…

So do you like investing, well take the Rookie Challenge at MyWallSt.net and you can be a winner.

This is a site all about investing and learning more about investing from fellow investors. They cater to the amateur investor with money information and tips from both professionals and other amateurs. You can learn by practicing your investing skills with fake money until the time comes when you feel confident enough to really do some investing.

I have done some investing myself with some mixed results, but over all it is a good experience to have. I just wish that I had more money that I could invest, but my bills and my daughter come first even though all the professionals suggest you pay yourself first. I can’t do that right now. I sort of go with the rule of “feed ourselves first” instead of paying us.

There are all sorts of resources available from this page including a very active blog and you all know how much I enjoy good blogs. I haven’t read this one very long, but it does look to have potential. There is also a “Rookie” only section. I wonder why they call beginner’s rookies though I personally don’t equate investing with any sports, but someone some where must have.

Anyways, check out a site that seems to be a leader in the category of investing.

triOS Classes…

triOS I want to go to college again.  I am thinking about going a class similiar to this e-Commerce Web Design class.  It is college full-time for a full year.  I think I already have a lot of the classes taken and I think they are able to still be transferred because I took a class in 2003.  I really want to learn PHP though.

Trios is mostly in Canada, but I really like there site and there program looks really like one I would be interested in.  I wish I lived closer….

Go Ahead Freeze It!!!

We were sent some of this Freeze It. Yesterday it was one of the multiple surprises that came in the mail box, so since I don’t have any pains. Yeah, seriously I don’t. I went ahead and passed it over to Stan who has more than his share. He decided his back was the perfect place to try this sample packet.

Here is the quote of what he said about it:

“Oh, it goes on nice and warm and slowly cools off to very cold, it made my muscles so relaxed. It is great.”

That is all that you get from him. He is “a man of few words”. I am quoting one of his health workers when I called to get his files transferred for his move down here.

Anyways, back to the Freeze It, I like that it is made from plant products though and natural. I like that it is cheaper than the competition and available in stores. I like that it is made in America right next door in Ohio actually.

20070915_00112p Oh yeah and I almost forgot. Here look his smile with the Freeze It pack. He makes a really great commercial model doesn’t he…he is available for parties as well so he says.

VoiP Phone Service…

I use VoiP for my home phone and it works wonderful. Here is a company that offers some stupendous rates for small business phone systems.

A VoiP set up is pretty simple, in my case I use a router connected to my cable modem for internet service in my home. The VoiP box that is shipped to you from the company offering your service simply plugs into my router and then another cord plugs from that into the phone.

In my system, I actually have all my phones wired together, so multiple phones will work on my system and I plug the box into my phone jack instead of a phone. That gives a signal to all the phones in my house.

You would never know that I have VoiP unless well…you read what I just told you. The signal is perfectly clear and there is rarely a problem, but when the electric goes off. You have to have electric to have phone service with this system. For me, though, the last place I want to be when I am without electric is on the phone. I have a cell phone as well that I can use in this situation.

Anyways…VoiP is a great deal and a product that I highly recommend. There are lots of different service providers, so I do recommend shopping around and knowing which features you will use the most with your current phone. You should look for those features in your next plan.

Good Night…

5 Essential People Skills…

I have never been banned by an advertiser, but I probably will be anyways from that one.  This will almost ensure it.  I have to look out for my readers though.  I had taken the test prior to accepting the assignment and got the interesting seemingly accurate results.  I went ahead and accepted the assignment.  They usually don’t last long.  I had intended on doing a quite charming post and am not sure how you back out of doing them after you had accepted. The new acceptance policy and such.

Here…. you can use my affiliate link if you are interested in that book. The price is 1/2 off what they charge.

Sorry…2%.  I wish you were better.  Honest…I do.

Live In The Two - Buzz Review

Here is a site with a test (results require you to enter e-mail), but the test proclaims to see if you could live in the top 2% with some self improvement tips.

Here is what it says about me as a result of finishing the test.

You could live in the top 2% of America!

Discipline -While hard work is certainly instrumental in attaining success, it is useless without discipline. Discipline is the ability to set goals, manage one’s time, measure results, and maintain overall balance in life.

Although you don’t think of yourself as the “anal-retentive” type, others have a tendency to view you as “over the top” organized. Little do they know that secretly, you feel as disorganized as the next guy.

Passion -It’s more than just hard work, it’s holding on to the dream. Though life comes at you hard sometimes, every person must have an instinct to press on and dream big. Regardless of what you do, it is only success when you have done your best.

Judging by your responses, you’re ready to take on the world. The larger the obstacle, the greater the accomplishment. The greater the challenge, the sweeter the victory. You’re going somewhere, and people know it.

Risk - Risk is not always a matter of rolling the dice, and in this case, our goal is to measure one’s willingness to step out of the “comfort zone.” Success often requires change, and the road is often paved with new challenges that defy complacency.

Unfortunately, based on your responses, it would seem as if complacency and/or fear have paralyzed you from effectively making necessary changes in your life. You may want to remember that improvement requires change, and although it can be uncomfortable, it is sometimes necessary. Dare to take a chance. Try something new. Success is just a few steps away.

Optimism - “You are what you think about,” so the saying goes, and it is no surprise that happy people are, well, just happier. This category of optimism includes both internal and external sources of positive affirmation (i.e., self-esteem, confidence, self-image, spiritual acuity, etc.).

If positive outlook is a requirement for success, then you seem to have the world by the tail. Without being boastful, you have a genuine sense self, and find value in being yourself. You are a pleasure to be around and find your time in high demand by others.

Interpersonal Skills - Relationships are pivotal to overall success, and that not only includes personal relationships, but also the ability to deal with people. Negotiating. Selling. Public speaking. Regardless of your trade, these factors are all necessary for ultimate success.

Your replies on this test indicate that you tend to be an introvert by nature, and are likely in need of some confidence in your own abilities. Whether you actually lack the skills, or just the ability to implement them, it is holding you back and you need to find a fix. Bear in mind that introversion is not an impediment to success; it can actually be an asset. The key is honing your skills.

If you want to take this test, it is only 5 short pages of questions.  It was fun to take, my only wish is that it didn’t require my e-mail to get results.  I did learn that the results are not e-mailed to you, so a bogus e-mail would probably get your results.  I personally went and made a hotmail account in which I have already forgotten the password.

Anyways….when I go to the section after the test, I get this as a quote:

Your primary opportunity for improvement lies in the area of INTERPERSONAL SKILLS. The ability to communicate and interact with others in a positive, confident, mutually satisfying way is absolutely critical to achievement. Without it, all the ambition and hard work in the world won’t get you to where you want to be.

I almost find this more interesting than the results of my test.  Yes, I am an introvert easy.  The cure though for being an introvert is a book which only costs $55.97 through them.

Wow, I am so sorry.  I started out with this post wanting it to be so positive and uplifting.  I am probably a huge disgrace to the people that sponsored it though.  I think this site has an interesting personality test and the results are okay as far as value.  I beyond taking the test would not invest with this company, not because they have a bad thing going.  I don’t know on that.  They do not have a few website basics though and are collecting information about us which they do not reveal about themselves, for example what is their e-mail address??  I can’t find it, they don’t have a contact page as a matter a fact the only page I can leave to from there sales pitch is the “Buy” page where they reveal the price of this magic book.

On their premise though, how would living in the top 2% of earners make me better.  I probably wouldn’t change much except I would have no house payments, of course.  I would start a pretty large college fund and probably pay for all the kids on my bus to get their education.  That is the greatest good I could do for the world with more money.  I know that money does not buy happiness and my happiness level couldn’t increase by much really anyways.  I am pretty much okay with being broke so long as I am not starving and my bills are paid.  You know!!
