Situation Sunday - February 25th

Yes, I am a week behind.  I seriously posted last weeks Situations yesterday thinking that I was current.  I am really loosing it.

Situation # 1
You have lived in your house for many of generations. The property next door is for sale. Your great Grandfather planted a huge tree that is right on the boarder of both properties. You love adore that tree as part of the history of it as much as it looks. People have purchased the place next door and want that tree removed. Half of it’s root system is on theirs and yours. What do you do?

Have a conversation with them about the history of the tree, but ultimately it is the possession of both and it one doesn’t want.  I don’t believe the other can force it to be there.

Situation #2
You are lying in your second floor bedroom. Looking up at the stars at night through the skylight window. All of the sudden you hear a loud thump on the roof. The next thing you see out of the skylight window is this creature that is naked. It has arms and legs, the anatomy of a man, but also a long tail. Clearly you realize this creature is not of this world. You reach for the phone and it is dead……What do you do?

Keep looking out the sky light window.  This would be an interesting sight, I wouldn’t want to miss a minute.

Situation # 3
You have been selected to appear on Oprah’s Big Give, it is a new competition where she gives you a million dollars to give away along with 10 others. You have to give it all away the quickest , and the best…as meaning the neediest and most deserving….What do you do?

Start passing out cash on the streets of small towns (skip the city everyone gives stuff away in cities), like the one I live in.  Give to those small shop owners, give to the middle section.  It would be fun.  There are needy people everywhere look around.  Most people I know would flip at being given $100.  We need it, but don’t have it.

Situation Sunday - February 24th

Here is my Situation Sunday for this week.

Situation #1
You are driving in the city, the car in front of you runs a red light and crashes with a oncoming car. The car that ran the red light belongs to the Mafia, and states it was not their fault. The police officer asks you if you saw what happened, what do you do?

Why do I know all this information.  Has anyone not driven in the city before?  People don’t really stick around for accidents do they??  I would not know who was driving the car, nor would the cops have ever seen me.  That would be almost any situation in a city driving.  I would have turned on my turn signal and went the scenic route to my destination never having stopped or anything.  Am I heartless???  It is city though, there are the people walking on the street and more than enough rubber necker surely they would have gotten help.

Situation #2
You are at home and your cell phone rings….accidentally, the person you have on the other line didn’t realize as they put it in there purse the hit the button that contacts you, As you try to say Hello, it goes unheard and you can hear their conversation. The person is talking to your boss which is also theirs, They are spreading lies to make you look bad and them look good…..What do you do?

Ask them about it when I see them next making a point that I see them next within a reasonable amount of time.

Situation#3
A planet loaded with extremely toxic gas is on its way to crashing into the earth. Scientist, and all the world leaders foresee the end of the earth in 4 months,, The end is near and now it is time to plan…….What do you do?

How do you plan for the end of the world?  Who cares, just live.  Enjoy your life like you hopefully do everyday anyways.  If you aren’t, you should change something.  I love my life and the end of the world isn’t really a big deal in my eyes.  I wouldn’t change a thing.

Situation Sunday - February 10th

The wonderful Helena compiles these complex situations each and every Sunday.

1} You are living in a small city. Your yard is all fenced in. One day you are out fiddling around your garden, and your back gate quickly opens up…a man is there and quickly as he can closes the gate and approaches you. It is the President of your country. He explains to you all of his body gaurds are dead,,,,and now "They" are after him. As you ask him to define "They", he exclaims not now please…Hide me! You have your loved ones in side…….What do you do?

My backyard is easy to hide in, so I would just say "Hide away".  I wouldn’t take Bush into my house though, goodness gracious.

2} You have a half sister, just by a remarriage of your father. She is 44 years old, {her blood mother excluded her from the will when she died} She has been in and out of rehabs,,,….Well she has straightened out for the most part….married and struggling between jobs. She has asked if she can live with you till she & hubby gets on her feet. She was just living with her blood sister, but she kicked them out. What do you do?

No, she can’t live with me.  I’d maybe help her get a place, but no.  It has nothing to do with 1/2 sister or anything though, she could be full on sister.  NO.

3} You have just found a treasure chest worth 5 million. Easy spending it with out any questions. But there has ben a notice around searching for it for years, a reward of a half a million…….What do you do?

So the question is 5 million dollars easy money versus 1/2 million dollars by doing the right thing.  I think this person who made this reward is crazy.  Maybe I would say I found it and there was only 4 million, is that 1/2 good??   Bury the first million somewhere for Kyra when she is older and take that award money and mostly pay off my bills and invest the rest.  I like where I am at.

Situation Sunday - February 3rd

The lovely Helena brings us Situation Sunday each week.  Check her out!

Situation # 1
You are on a busy windy mountain road. There is only 2 lanes for traffic, coming and going. The truck in front of you is a car carrier with a full load of cars, as it is going around one of the turns you notice a chain break on the top…almost as in slow motion the cars start rolling off and heading towards you……What do you do?

What I saw a chain break, this isn’t like me.  I would probably be dead before I saw a chain break on a truck.  Okay, so I do see it.  I swerve and my chances are still 50/50 for death.

Situation # 2
You are having a dinner party and as much as you want to invite a close friend, you hesitate to ask them because their spouse/partner is very hard of hearing and mostly yells their words. When you friend hears of the upcoming dinner what do you say or tell them?

That this was a private dinner and that they will be invited next time.  You don’t invite everyone to everything, get over it.

Situation # 3
Your partner tells you that they care for you a lot. But as time has passed they no longer feel turned on by you, actually a lot of things they see in you now finds them repulsed…..What do you say or do?

Well, good bye would be in order don’t drag this on.  It is so immature to keep going when things are sucking, time makes you more invested, so leave as soon as you know it isn’t going to work and invest your time in new potential.

Situation Sunday - January 20th

Situation Sunday is brought to you by Helena.

Situation # 1
You are doing some of your annual spring cleaning. Time to flip the mattress. As it fall onto it’s new side….a swarm of flying insects…by the thousands come out and immediately start attacking you. You are the only one home in the house at the time….what do you do?

Run for the shower, insects hate showers.  I am wondering how I am going to get the mattress out though so when everything is calm again.  I get the raid ready to go for another round.

Situation # 2
After a lengthy relationship that ended on the sour note. You have dated a bunch of losers and some winners but they just were not what you were looking for. You have found what you believe is Mr/Mrs. right. Your job finds you in many different office’s, at various locations in between 2 counties, none of which you live in by the way. You deal with the community as you are working….You now have found the Right person in your life! All is just going great, and you are contemplating moving in or marriage when….You are working and you see your honey coming in the door. You are surprised that they are there. They act like they don’t know you and after a very lengthy conversation you find out they were adopted when they a baby. When you show them a picture of the one you are in love with it is like they are looking in a mirror. You tell your love this and they are also surprised, and thrilled they have a sibling. As time goes by you realize you could love them both….either way your a winner- What do you do?

Keep being with the first one trying to find differences, so I could catch a switch.  I would be nervous that they would attempt a switch.  I would encourage them to become better brothers.

Situation # 3
This is the road of life. You have reached the half way point or a little beyond. You are OK. Your mate says’s he loves you, and your life is comfortable it just has no Zing. When you think of what you have in common it really is zilch at this point. You have been there 30 years, so you know. On the other side of this road is the unknown…but it might be the missing link you need in your life. You know that person on the other side likes so many things you do…..from TV shows to music. Do you risk all you have to find out…or do you remain with no Zing. With no Zing you have no worries that they will always be there, on the other side you have the unknown……What do you do?

I guess I have to say I go with the unknown because that is sort of where I am at in life.  My  divorce was mutual though, so it is like we both chose the unknown at the same time.  I am happy so far with my unknown, but at this point it is still that unknown.  My life I live one day at a time as of now.  I enjoy it very much though, it is completely different now from when I was comfortably and predictably married.  It only took me 10 years to figure all that out though, not 30.  I have known people that it took 30 though and some marriages where they stayed together for the kids, so when the kids were gone so were they.

So ultimately I say go with the Zing as of right now.  Don’t mess with your kids though either, I am pretty sure Kyra is happier now that she has 2 homes and isn’t around people that aren’t really interested in each other anymore.  She used to try to keep us in different rooms when we were together, now she doesn’t do that with me anymore.  She enjoys going to her dad’s though and than enjoys coming back.  It is really sweet actually and she is doing great with it.

Situation Sunday - January 13th

Head over to Helena to learn more about situation Sunday.

Situation #1

You have purchased property, 2 acres. You have a house and have been living very comfortable for the last 4 years. There is a knock on your door……it is the local Historian. They tell you that your house and property is in a historic site. The was the Civil war and numerous bodies are scattered just 3 feet below the earth all around your yard. With your permission they would like to start digging them up and putting them all together in one section. WHAT DO YOU DO?

I guess I would get proof from the guy that he is who he says.  I would than think it was cool and let them dig, so long as they fix my yard back to the way it currently is or better.

Situation # 2

You are driving all alone on a country road. You are on your way home. Your home is located way out in the sticks, about 5 miles to civilization. As you are driving you notice a car in the rear view mirror…..after 2 miles the car is still following you but they now have turned off their head lights…..WHAT DO YOU DO?

I would drive back to town to the police station probably.  I live what some would consider 5 miles from civilization.  I don’t like people following me close to my house, I go around the block usually when someone is close to me like this even if they aren’t creepy.  I am weird.

Situation Sunday - January 6th

Helena is lonely, it is a new year.  Start something new, join the Situation Sunday Meme.

# 1} A very close friend of yours who you seem to have known like forever……You both are working on the same job. The job comes to a end and you ask them to pick up your pay check, and your severance check. They do, but due to a habit that they have , they take the check and spend it. It is not much $500 total. What do you do?

Someone else cashed my check, man what kind of friend is this??  I don’t think this would be my friend very long.  I would ask them to pay back the money though.

#2} A relative of yours, has asked you if they can move in with you. You love that person but you realize what a major change that could be. Your husband/significant other is totally against it……What do you do?

I say no and they don’t move in.

#3} Your spouse has just won the lottery. Before you got married you signed a pre-nuptial agreement. Now that they have won 50 million they decide they don’t want to share the life with you any more……What do you do?

I guess I don’t share my life with them.  Who wants to share a life with someone who doesn’t want to share back.  That would suck!  Money doesn’t really turn me on that much, but I would hope to be left with a home and no bills beyond utilities.  I would be okay without excess money….that I don’t earn myself.  I would probably be wishing him some bad luck though.  Oh, that is so mean…

Situation Sunday - December 30th

Helena is the gracious host of Situation Sunday each week.  Check them out.

Your boss who has done everything in the book to tick every one off at one time or another in a office of 7 people presents you with with a Birthday card…..as you open it it is a used card that was presented to her on her last birthday. Her name is crossed out and replaced by your name…….What do you do or say?

I don’t say anything, but her next birthday.  I’ll just cross off my name and replace it with hers.  It would become a fun tradition.  I really wouldn’t care, save me some money.

You have no issues with being White, Mexican, Polish or black or yellow. Your boss who is black and dealing with 7 co workers at times, that are white….you notice that they say to another worker ” You apple pie people. You remain silent and the person that it is said to laughs it off. The holidays rolls around and the boss says I am going to bring some culture to you all….and servers you a dinner of fried chicken and collard greens. Do you feel that this is racism, and if so what do you do?

Yeah, it probably is racism.  Fried chicken and collard greens are good though, so who cares.  There is no way to cure people who are racist, but just to ignore them.

The bank in your neighbor hood has been robbed. They caught the guy running out of the park by your house. No money was found on him. They searched the area for days and no loot was found. You are out walking your dog….he wonders off the path and you go after him…..He starts digging in the woods and unearths the loot from the bank robbery……no one is around…..what do you do?

I guess I thank goodness for FDIC first.  I wonder why did I go after this guy?  Am I asking for trouble or what?  I hope I have more sense than follow criminals into wooded areas.  DUH!  Me…  I would probably go back to my house and call the cops, but really I don’t know if I would or not.

Situation Sunday - December 23

Check out Situation Sunday by Helena if you haven’t already.

Situation # 1 - You are on a camping outing in the mountains . { With family or friends}.The car is about 200 feet away from your site. Your cabin is about a hundred feet away from the river. You are all by the river around a campfire. Having a great time. Everyone is talking and enjoying them selves, and no one has noticed that 2 mountain lions are approaching, The cats are 4 feet away in the when someone notices……what do you do?

I would stay next to the fire and maybe wave something that is on fire in their direction.

Situation # 2 - You have a close friend that you work with. They come to work the majority of the time wearing cloths that either do not match, or look like they are a size 8 and your friend is a size 14. They have stretched the spandex to the point of spandex screeching. Your friend is not poor and definitely has the money to be dressing better. They all so are very sensitive. How do you tell them about it?

I don’t.  I could care less what other people wear.  I am maybe even this friend, well…the unmatching part.  I don’t wear spandex and think my jeans look nice.  LOL…

Situation # 3 - Your spouse is total very negative. As the years go by they are getting worse. Nothing you do is right. They never has a nice word to say to anyone. They finds fault in all your friends and family. They are draining your positive energy. Christmas is here and they do not appreciate anything anyone has gave them. They have every thing they need. You yet have to shop for them……..What would you get or give to them that might make a difference or help them to turn everything around to make them appreciate and enjoy it?

I don’t buy anything for them.  I don’t even give them a lump of coal.  I hadn’t bought my husband a Christmas gift in probably 5 years because of basically this.  I also didn’t receive a gift in exchange.  We have just been scrooges.  I put a tree up last year and was all excited about it and he didn’t even help me decorate it.  I am divorced from this situation at this point.  It is wonderful actually.

Have a great week.

Situation Sunday - December 16

Wow!  It’s a situation sunday again and Helena is still waiting on your participation, so go check it out.

Situation # 1 - You are out shopping, you have a small child with you. { Could be yours or a relative, you are watching.} You make it back to the car. Put the child in the back in the car seat. Load all the bags into the trunk. Get in the car and put the keys in the ignition……Suddenly a masked guy jumps into the passengers side,,and says drive lady in a angry voice with a gun pointed at your head…..What do you do?

I hope I tell the guy to go ahead and shoot or get out of the car.  I don’t think I do though.  I think I drive with him like he insists.  It would probably not be my best driving though, I would drive like a maniac basically.  I think ultimately I would crash lightly into something after I got all my thoughts together.  It would take a few minutes at least though.

When I drove truck we did one time have some people try to jump our truck.  We were moving though, just in a bad section of town.  They never got in and we didn’t stop for them.

Situation # 2 - Time for your family Christmas get together. Everyone is there, from your siblings to their spouses, and children. Every one is told to bring a gift, one that can be given to a male or a female. And everyone is to bring a child’s gift, equal to the number of children that will be at the party. The adult gifts are put in a grab bag, where you pull out one, and if it is the one you brought you have the option to keep or pick again. The children’s gifts are done the same way. You happen to pick a gift, and it happens to be a “re gift”, one that you have bought for your sister a few years ago. What do you do or say as you open the gift?

Oh, I am so a re-gifter, sorry if this offends you.  I wouldn’t say a darn thing if I got a re-gift.  I would probably just re-gift it back to someone else if I didn’t like it.  I can tell you this, if you get a cinnamon candle from me.  It is a re-gift guarantee.  I seem to be the cinnamon candle bus driver for some reason every year I get tons of cinnamon candles through the year.  I have like a little drawer of them to re-gift to whomever.

Situation # 3 - A big snow storm is brewing out side. Already a foot of snow has fallen and expecting another foot to come. Your house is out in the country with your nearest neighbor being 5 miles away. Your house is on a back road. The last storm brought only 8 inches, and it took the highway department 1 week before they cleared the roads for you to get out. This storm looks like it will be much longer before you are cleared out. The phone service has went out,,,you can see where the line snapped. There is a knock on your door, almost like a bang. You open your door to find Teri Hatcher and Johny Depp at your door. They will be staying with you till the storm ends. They were on their way to shoot a movie, got lost and ended up stuck in the snow. They have walked 2 miles in the blizzard to get to your place……{ Keep in mind…after this it will be on the news, and tons of reporters shall be coming} How will you handle the next 2 weeks?

I really would just be calm like normal.  I would maybe wash the sheets for them.  LOL… Call it a lucky day.  I would hate being trapped in the house though and would probably be quite nutty by the end.  I don’t like staying home a full 48 hours let alone two weeks.  I always have to get out and do things.  It keeps me sane.  Having Teri and Johny would probably be a welcome change for this long stretch of home time.  I have to say though, I haven’t really seen much of there work, so it wouldn’t be like they are staying with a huge fan or anything.  I would just see them almost as just normal basic people.

Have a great week.
