Fight, Turn The Other Cheek…

This driver is being charged for not breaking up a fight on her bus.  I guess if I was told that there was going to be a fight on my bus, they would be charging me too.  I am not saying that the kid would have 4 chipped teeth and all that, but I simply wouldn’t believe them for the most part.  That a fight was even going to happen.

I would pull over scream, yell, and make them all sit up front.  They would all get off the bus though as planned.  I would call my boss and tell him about it and write them all up the next day.

I don’t know what was expected of this driver, she was inexperienced you can say just from her age of 24.  You can’t drive a school bus until you are 21, so she had less than 3 years driving.  I don’t know if I would have handled this situation correctly and surely 3 years ago, I probably wouldn’t have.

What do you think?  Is this a felony child neglect case??  I personally don’t think it is…if that isn’t apparent.  I think this is a case to use in our driver training programs.  Teach us…what to do.

Being A Substitute Is Hard!

Being a substitute bus driver is way harder than being on a regular route.  I know this from being a substitute bus driver for over 2 years.  I was required to know almost all the roads in our school district and read my written notes, all while watching children whom were going to be testing there limits with me.

I now have a regular route and basically know each kids name and can vision where they live just by glancing at them.  This is all luxury that the substitutes don’t have.

Students that misbehave on my bus with a substitute get written up twice because I have the substitute write them up and then I go ahead and write them up as well.  It makes it go generally my substitute has no issues as all my kids know what the deal is.

Anyways, all that doesn’t make an excuse for a substitute driver to let a 2nd grader off miles from there home.  That is what this driver did.  I think it has to be illegal and chargeable for some sort of something this one.  I can’t imagine letting another student off as well, to escort the walking…. It is all very confusing.  I’ll be watching to see if any updates come for this article though.

I am very confused basically, but sad that this happened.  Why on earth??

Some Days I Need A Drink…

Ok, so I am an almost complete non-drinker lets get that straight. I do a whole lot of designated driving though, so I see quite a few drinkers and do on occasion have some of my own drinks. Mine are usually at home with no need to be driven anywhere though.

Anyways, this one sort of makes me sick to my stomach because I am around drunks frequently. This driver apparently kept his booze right beside him on the bus an open container no less. I guess for when the kids are acting up…he can have a swallow. Isn’t that terrible?? I can’t imagine this honestly. Can you??

Trafficking Cocaine…

Here is a school bus driver who was charged with trafficking cocaine.  She is suspended from her driving job for now.  It doesn’t say that she was distributing it to children or anything, but this is something that is crazy for a bus driver to be involved in.

I seem to be on a money rant here lately though and I can imagine that she was probably doing it for money though.  She must be majorly broke now though that she was caught and who will hire this poor lady??

This is a huge tragedy though.

Slightly Nervous…

Today was a good day basically.  I had Kyra most of it well until after my afternoon routes.  We did a whole lot of playing today and reading.  I actually wasn’t down in my computer area at all this morning hardly.  We usually play down here.  She was so tired in fact that she slept for the entire 2 hours we were driving this afternoon.  She only just woke up when I backed in to the house driveway.

Deuce is not liking his new cage, and revolting by going to the bathroom in it yesterday.  I took the next blow today on him and made it 1/2 size, so he is basically squished in there.  I gave him a toy stuffed with peanut butter while in there too though and he didn’t touch it.  Poor guy….  if only he had not eaten all my shoes and the trash.

Tonight, I am a slight bit nervous.  I have no idea really exactly why that is.  I have never slept completely by myself in my house here though before.  I have stayed alone a whole lot while Adam was over the road though years ago.  Stephen said he would stay, but I said no.  It is a strange mixed feeling.  Deuce will probably end up sleeping with me though, I have company anyways.  LOL…

I still am having a hard time calling it a Thursday too.  I want so bad for it to be Friday.

Tomorrow will be fun though.  I have quite the night planned out for us.  We are going bar hoping with a whole lot of friends.  We rented a 15 passenger vehicle as the transportation.  I am of course driving….I am always the driver.  We have plans for a total of 22 to have riden in our vehicle, so yeah we will have a few get off and they will be eplaced with new seat warmers.  It should be entertaining though to say the least.

Kyra is spending the whole 24 hours of tomorrow with her dad.  It is good for her.  Well, I am off to bed.  Have a great night.

Mature?? Me??

Yeah, I know it is Friday.  I was checking out all the Manic Monday posts though and found this test over at Dallas Miao’d.  I thought it was funny she got the lady without a shirt, so go figure.  I get the one fully buttoned up.  I had no idea I was so grown…aaahhhh!

You Are 82% Grown Up, 18% Kid

Your emotional maturity is fully developed, and you have an excellent grasp on your emotions.
In fact, you are so emotionally mature - you should consider being a therapist!

Pucker Up…

20071128_02605p Today was a sort of fun day.  I got home from my morning routes though and found my house in shambles again, so it was the last straw for Deuce.  I called Lyn to see what she was doing because that is what I do basically.  She had a house showing…her house is for sale, so she had to get out.

I went over there and we went to town.  We got Deuce a new kennel cage, those things are expensive, but it was on sale 50% off though.  A good day to be buying a dog kennel.  I really hope all these drunk people tip well on Friday night though.

So Deuce has a cage, the doctor has the paperwork on me that he wanted, we stopped and got some other paperwork stuff done too.  I finally stopped at the trucking company down the road and put my application in.  I maybe have a chance there of getting a job, boy would that be a “one of the boys” place to work.  I would be quite literally the only female employee with about a hundred men.  It would be cool though because I could wear my blue jeans.  Why that is wonderful sounding to me, I haven’t a clue.  It is though.  I really don’t want to go buy new clothes I guess.

I still wish that the car dealership job would have been mine though.  It is crazy how much I think they picked the wrong person and they don’t even know it.  I hope the guy does good, I guess though.

20071128_01201p 20071128_01101p Today after lunch Kyra wanted this lemon peeled really badly. I kept telling her lemon yucky and all the warnings, so finally I gave in.  I peeled the darn lemon.  I missed the best face she made, but these two were pretty great captures.  Yeah, that is a lemon in her hands.  LOL…

20071128_04006p We went on the afternoon routes, we came home got in showers, ate pizza for dinner.  Pizza is significant because Stan can’t eat pizza.  This is something we would have never had if he were still living here.  It was yum though.

We read books until I couldn’t tell you what a cow looked like.  Yeah, that is a lot of books.  I think we have had to go through 20 of them though.

Stephen came up and we watched the movie Dazed and Confused.  It was good in a weird sort of way, it is set to be the 70’s which I have only a slight clue about.  He has to work tomorrow after 3 days of hunting though, so I sent him home in plenty of time to get lots of sleep.

I guess that leaves me here.  I am scanning jobs online, scanning some paid post opportunities, and just generally reading all my feeds.  I am going to get to bed early though tonight.  Have a great one…
