My Google Drop…

posted in Insights |

Well, I am a victim.  I had a PR4, it dropped to a PR2 after I did a sponsored post about loans.  Today, though it dropped to a big fat 0.  I wonder why they are ticking so many web professionals off, it is really stupid.  I am still getting my 400 or so visitors a day though, I love you all.  LOL…

Google is also sending less search engine traffic this way as well and there stock prices are dropping.  It is the first time I think I have checked my stats and Windows Live is sending me more traffic than Google.  So go check them out for a search engine.  They seem pretty good actually…I have changed over now.  The url is just as easy to remember.

Here is another list of suggestions from Snoskred of services available that will get us less dependent on Google.  She fell victim too…well there are a whole lot of us.  It is really crazy.

Google seems to forget who made them big and seem to be abusing their power. A lot of bloggers were affected by this and are pretty p.o. The blogging community is large and I see a lot of negative messages towards the big G. Maybe it’s time for a change.

It’s INSANE! I dropped to a big fat zero on Wednesday. I just sat there staring for the longest time, it made me ill! I’ve decided that Google is this years Scrooge because of what has happened to those of us who do paid blogging! I started with PPP a year and ten days ago with one blogger blog. I didn’t know anything about PR at the time. I now have a total of 6 blogs, only 3 of which I do paid blogging on, and five of which are hosted on my own domains. (yes, I still have my blogger blog, it just turned 3 years old a few weeks ago) Those three have PR’s of zero across the board when they were as high as PR 3’s. I knew it was coming, so I can’t say I’m completely shocked, but I’m pissed that they chose this time of year to pull this BS! Eventually it will come back to bite them in the ass, in the meantime I’m using Yahoo as a search engine and going as Gaggle free as I possibly can! Someone needs to knock them off their freaking high horses and remind them exactly WHO is was that made them who they are today!

I agree with both of you wi and Holly. I like the gaggle…LOL. I am not obsessed with PR, but I do enjoy the benefits of having a higher PR when it comes to my sponsors, so I do watch it some. I won’t change my site because of it though, this is mine and always has been. I don’t do things based on the influence of others, for the most part especially bullies….blah. Google…
